The author of the popular Fast 800 and Fast 800 Keto nutrition systems, nutritionist Michael Mosley, claims that the process of shedding extra pounds will go much faster if you exclude muesli and breakfast cereals from the diet (even if manufacturers write on the packs that their products contribute to weight loss).

“[If you want to lose weight] seriously reduce your sugar intake… This also applies to most breakfast cereals, which are usually full of sugar, ” Mosley quotes Express.co.uk .

In addition to breakfast cereals, Mosley advises to exclude sweets, pastries, sugary drinks and even fruits and berries with a high sugar content (for example, mangoes, bananas, grapes) from the menu altogether.

The thing is that such products cause a spike in blood glucose levels, and then its sharp decline. This leads to the fact that we are reaching for food again (which means we consume more calories).

Instead of “fast” carbohydrates, Michael suggests filling the diet with “slow” ones (they do not cause sudden sugar spikes and saturate well): whole grain cereals (quinoa, bulgur, brown rice) and legumes (beans, lentils, chickpeas).

The expert also advises everyone losing weight to eat at least 60 g of protein per day. Fish, eggs, poultry — all these products contain healthy proteins, which Mosley recommends to lean on. In addition, 60 grams is not such an unattainable figure: one serving of chicken contains about 30 g of protein, a piece of salmon — about 17 g, and a boiled egg — 13 g.

Michael is also an adherent of healthy fats and one of the main popularizers of the keto diet based on them. The category of products that contain such fats, the nutritionist includes fatty fish, olive oil, avocado and nuts.
