We reveal the main secrets of a perfectly matched denim that will emphasize the dignity of your figure.
Perhaps it is impossible to come up with a wardrobe item more irreplaceable than jeans today. However, in order for them to become a worthy base of relaxed harmonious images for all occasions, it is important not only to style, but also to choose them competently.
Tip 1. Choose a dense denim that sets the contour
Texture is one of the best corrective techniques. Many girls make the mistake of choosing models made of thinner denim with an admixture of elastane, but it tends to exaggerate the volume and emphasize even the slightest imperfections of the figure. It is better to give preference to jeans made of 100% thick cotton, which sets the contour and holds the shape.
Tip 2. Do not fit your hips too tightly
This advice is partly related to the previous one. Firstly, it is better to immediately abandon the skinny. They will not make a compliment to the figure (besides, they will look “cheaper”). Secondly, jeans should sit well in the hip area, but still not be tight and not fit them too tightly. Let a little air remain between the clothes and the skin. But below they can narrow, but, again, in moderation.
Tip 3. Length matters
Everything is simple here: an open ankle will always look more elegant, and jeans gathered at the bottom in an accordion will weigh down and add volume. Therefore, immediately after purchase, feel free to adjust the jeans to your height or tuck them up, if the length and cut allow.
Exception: straight models and bell-bottoms look better in full length and in combination with heeled shoes. This technique will also greatly lengthen the legs.
Tip 4. Give up the low landing
Jeans made of thick denim of medium or high fit not only create a hint of a waist, but also adjust the abdominal area, if necessary. In any case, a low fit, in turn, violates the proportions and deprives the silhouette of a possible feminine contour and composure. Yes, it’s not easy to find jeans that fit both in the waist and in the hips, but it’s worth it. Although the option of fitting the figure in the atelier should not be underestimated either.
Tip 5. Place accents correctly
It is important to understand that any accent is attention to the area in which it is located. If you do not want to draw attention to the hips, it is better to abandon the decor and decoration in favor of basic laconic models. Decorative embroideries, holes, fringes, extra locks, inserts and all the like are better to give up.
Tip 6. Choose the details according to your proportions
At the heart of any flawless image is the principle of similarity. Remember the Ebbinghaus illusion? A small one surrounded by a big one seems even smaller, a big one surrounded by a small one – more. The same applies to the principle of clothing selection. For example, do not be small in the size of the pockets, they should be proportional to your buttocks. By the way, as an additional correction, it is better that they are located closer to each other and are positioned at a minimum angle — this will make the hips smaller and the buttocks more taut.
Tip 7. Uniform color
The presence of scuffs or highlighted areas on the fabric can also play a bad joke. They accentuate and enlarge certain areas on the hips and buttocks, exaggerating them. To avoid this effect, it is better to immediately give preference to evenly colored fabric.
And most importantly, do not forget: there are no ugly figures, there are incorrectly selected clothes. Therefore, do not settle for less and, together with this hint, go in search of that perfect couple. She’s probably already waiting for you.
