Bright palette, leather and masculine cut — what will we wear in six months?
Louis Vuitton, Marine Serre, Dior, Saint Laurent
The snowstorm at the Balenciaga show, the pink kingdom at Valentino and the stellar line-up of models at Off-White – Paris Fashion Week has ended. Designers have shown their autumn-winter collections, and we have collected the main trends of the next season, which will become relevant in six months.
Loewe, Louis Vuitton, Isabel Marant
Despite the fact that designers have been actively broadcasting the fashion for femininity throughout the fashion month, Paris has distinguished itself with its passion for masculine things. This is reflected in men’s pantsuits, voluminous coats in the style of the 80s and wide trousers, as if from the wardrobe of a father or boyfriend. Such designers suggest combining it with shirts and a tie, a vintage-style leather jacket, a crop top or a cropped cardigan.
Chanel, Lanvin, Miu Miu
Stylists claim that there is nothing more versatile and spectacular than suits, whether they are already familiar trousers or sets with a skirt or shorts. Paris Fashion Week has given us new options for going out and every day: corduroy, leather, with a short skirt or wide trousers, combined with a coat or worn on a naked body — the choice is yours alone.
Balmain, Givenchy, Isabel Marant
Despite the return of zero trends, next fall we will still wear wide jeans, not skinny ones at all. At least this is what Givenchy, Isabel Marant and Balmain convince us. But it’s better to combine these with tight bodysuits, crop tops and romantic blouses.
Givenchy, Rick Owens, Off-White
After the pandemic, many brands finally mixed evening and casual looks, suggesting not to separate the festive wardrobe from the usual one. So, suits, dresses and tops with sequins were able to bypass the status of things “on the way out“ and register in everyday images. And elegant shiny dresses are still the best choice for any celebration.
Valentino, Givenchy, Saint Laurent
Thanks to the bold stars, the trend for “naked“ things passes into our wardrobe. There were a lot of translucent dresses made of chiffon and lace on the catwalk in Paris, which can now be presented not only on Kendall Jenner or Bella Hadid, but also on any modern girl. Of course, some nuances will have to be taken into account here, for example, to pick up a sconce for such a dress or put it on over a bodysuit or even trousers. For inspiration, go to Dior, Saint Laurent and Loewe (read also: The most “naked” outfits of stars on the carpets of 2021).
Hermes, Balmain, Stella McCartney
The autumn-winter season is impossible to imagine without leather things. French designers believe that you should not limit yourself to one thing made of leather in your image and offer to combine several at once. Or choose a spectacular coat, dress or raincoat that will become the highlight of the whole outfit.
Coat on the smell
Marine Serre, Rokh, Stella McCartney
Fashion brands show off their new creations every season, but there is also a place for classics in our closet. On the catwalk in Paris there were many variants of coats for the smell — voluminous fur, leather and wool.
Rick Owens, Louis Vuitton, Valentino
Elegant floor-length knitted dresses with Saint Laurent long sleeves, summer dresses with a full skirt and off-the-shoulder Louis Vuitton and bright Valentino models – next fall we will change into maxi dresses. Following the example of designers, we add large bracelets to them (directly on the sleeves), tie a voluminous sweater around the waist or add shoes to match.
Socks, tights and knee socks
Miu Miu, Chanel, Dior
Creative directors of fashion brands decided together that high socks, knee socks and catchy tights were created not just for warmth and comfort, but to help make the image stylish and modern. Next spring, we will definitely wear knitted knee socks under boots, add nylon stockings to dresses and shoes, and tight tights of contrasting colors to short skirts.
Marine Serre, Dior, Valentino
Another accessory that has received trend status in the new season. Now we wear gloves not only in the frosty winter with a fur coat and a coat, but also combine them with open tops, T-shirts and dresses.
